What changes your price
- Age: ACA rules allow older adults to be charged up to 3 times what a 21-year-old pays.
- Where you live: Tennessee has 8 rating areas with different prices.
- Tobacco use can raise the premium.
- Metal level: bronze costs less each month but more when you use care.
- Your income and household size set your premium tax credit, which lowers the premium.
2027 rate changes
Tennessee insurers filed 2027 rate changes. One secondary source reports a weighted average increase of about 15.6% Not confirmed. We could not confirm that figure on a TDCI or CMS page. The temporary, larger tax credits of 2021 to 2025 expired at the end of 2025 (KFF), so 2026 figures already reflect regular credits. Check real 2027 prices on November 1.
Turning 65 in Tennessee? Learn your Medicare options
Prices on this page are for individual and family plans under 65. Once you're eligible for Medicare, Marketplace plans usually stop being the right fit and premium tax credits generally end.
